TEXTURES NEAR THE SEA

I accidentally bought AB-mjólk (which is keifer), instead of Nýmjólk and was surprised when it plopped out into my bowl like yogurt. There are 8 different kinds of milk here:

Nýmjólk = whole milk (blue cartons)
Léttmjólk = low-fat milk (yellow cartons)
Undanrenna = skim milk (pink cartons)
Súrmjólk = butter-milk (ymir)
AB-mjólk = milk with acidophyllus (big AB-letters printed on the carton)
Mysa = whey
Fjörmjólk = low-fat milk with A- and D-vitamins added to it.
Þykkmjólk = cultured milk

Iceland prohibits the use of hormones, antibiotics, etc in its dairy and animal products. All of the sheep, chicken, pigs, and horses range free here as well and they do not import dairy or meat products. It is nice to not have to read the labels on everything in the grocery store like I do back home!
